Description
This tour is a great way to see the traditional side of the Dominican Republic. Many visitors only see the resort side of the country, but this tour dives into the heart of the country’s history and culture. Start your day in Higüey, one of the most popular cities in the country.
Once in Higüey, visit the Basilica of Higüey and the Dominican Market, where you can get a better understanding of Dominican culture and society. Enjoy a tasting of coffee, vanilla cocoa, and fruit, as well as a lunch made up of typical Dominican food.
After lunch, it’s time to visit the Anamuya River, where you’ll get time to swim, enjoy nature, and even slide on a 100-foot natural slide into the river. After your time at the river, head back to

This tour was amazing! Our family of four enjoyed getting to know the real Dominican Republic outside of the resort area. The basilica was beautiful. Riding the horses was a nice surprise and really fun too! Each stop had local insight and we met such nice people. Robinson was an excellent guide and gave lots of local points of view. Sandy the driver was very professional and safe. We are very glad we took this tour! We would highly recommend it!
