Samana: Half Day Whale Watching Humpback Whale
Enjoy a whale-watching experience in the Bay of Samaná, which humpback whales visit every year, and see these beautiful creatures up close on this unique whale-watching tour.
Explore the Bay of Samaná, which plays host to thousands of humpback whales during winter’s mating season. Take in this amazing experience with local and specialized guides, and enjoy snacks on board such as coconut, soda, and water.
Meet first at the tour office and gather with the rest of the tour members and specialized staff at the dock, then depart from the private dock in Samaná at 9:00 am.
Travel through the beautiful Bay of Samaná in search of the Humpback whales at the Marine Mammal Sanctuary.
Marvel at the aquatic wildlife and beautiful scenery in the Bay of Samaná, and experience a unique and exciting whale-watching tour before returning to the dock around 12:30 pm.
Samaná is the perfect place to watch the North Atlantic Humpback Whales who overwinter in the warm marine sanctuary of Samaná Bay before they begin their long migration to their summer grounds – as far away as Greenland and Iceland!
Not all humpback whales travel in the same group, but at any one time during the Samaná whale-watching season, there are at least 300 whales in Samaná Bay. With all those whales, you’ll have ample chance to watch all sorts of behavior on display – it’s more a matter of patience than luck.
