Of course you can’t guarantee to see the whales but what was excellent was how persistent the crew were to locate them. We stayed out much longer than other boats and we were rewarded we amazing views of the whales. Crew were friendly and attentive. Only slight negative hardly any English commentary mainly German, French and Spanish. Guessing there was a tour group on board. Would have def liked a more dedicated English speaker. But over all really worth the gamble of seeing such beautiful creatures in the sea rather than anywhere else.

I had the most incredible day in Samana! The whale watching tour was absolutely breathtaking. We got up close to humpback whales, and the crew was fantastic at educating us about these majestic creatures. After the whale watching, we visited Cayo Levantado, a small island paradise with crystal-clear waters and soft white sand. It was the perfect day. Highly recommend!

If you’re visiting the Dominican Republic, Samana’s whale watching is a must. We went in early February, and the whales were everywhere! The boat ride was smooth and the crew was knowledgeable and friendly. Cayo Levantado is the cherry on top — a beautiful island with gorgeous beaches and a relaxing vibe. Perfect for a day trip.

The whale watching experience in Samana was unforgettable. We saw several humpback whales and the boat captain was skilled at navigating to get the best views. However, the tour was a bit crowded, and there were many boats around which made it feel less private. Cayo Levantado, though stunning, was also packed with tourists. The natural beauty was still worth it, but I wish it was a bit more tranquil.
