Description

Get roundtrip hotel transfers and lunch so you can relax between your adventures.Start the tour by boat through Caño Hondo, a stream that crosses the largest mangrove in the Caribbean. By foot, traverse the unique landscape of Los Haitises with its limestone karst plateau, conical hills, sinkholes, and caverns.Explore the islets and mangrove forests of San Lorenzo Bay and see low-flying birds in Cayo de los Pájaros, between the Boca del Infierno and El Naranjo Arriba. Stop at many mogotes and atolls scattered throughout the coast that surrounds the park, and identify dozens of native birds along the way.Learn about cupey trees and the birds that fill their horizontal branches, as well as wild banyan trees and tropical almond trees. Watch out for bats and other nocturnal birds who call these caves home.Break for lunch at Hotel Paraíso Caño Hondo, an ecological hotel nestled at the foot of the mountain. Enjoy a swim in the hotel pools that are irrigated with crystal-clear water from a river that begins in the heart of the park. Finally, take the bus to Montaña Redonda and switch to a safari truck to reach the top. Find the best views in a special location between Laguna Limón and Laguna Redonda and see as far as the Bay of Samana, the Cordillera Oriental, and the Atlantic Ocean.

  1. Rabby -

The trip exceeded all expectations. It was really just about the beautiful flora and fauna. No tourist rip-offs, no over-tourism. No sales pitches. You could enjoy the whole day in peace and marvel without being constantly approached. We can only recommend this trip. Our tour guide Miguel was very direct.
